Hm. Taxol, in the early 1990s made a few dozen previously untreatable cancers, notably several forms of childhood leukemia curable with a 5 year survival rate of over 90% this is basically a cure.
Herceptin, sold in… I believe 1998 (don’t quote me on that), raised the survival rate at five years for inflammatory breast cancer from less than 1% to >65%.

I am planning on coming to Dominican Rep in January with my girlfriend and she loves to shop, and i like to bag myself a good bargain on some nice clothes too. So i was just wondering if Santo Domingo has any really good shopping centres for clothes shopping especially?
Do you live in the USA? If you do, save your money and buy your clothes there. There are no bargins in Santo Domingo. Do not go to the Colonial Zone for clothes. It’s probably the only place in the city that caters to tourists, so you will pay tourist prices. Instead, go to Winston Churchill (its a street). On Churchill you will find the Acropolis, the cities nicest mall, and Blue Mall is walking distance right up the street. Blue Mall just opened and it’s bigger and better than Acropolis. But, you will find no bargins on clothes in the Dominican Republic. The opposite is actually true. You will pay more, and the quality is no good. Even if you buy designer clothes, the quality here is not. Just about everything they sell here are returns or rejects. Or for some reason or another did not pass quality control and they end up here. Even clothes that are made and originate here are no good. For instance, Blue Country (bluecountryjeans.com). They are assembled and made here in the DR. But all the good stuff gets shipped overseas. All the rejects stay here and are sold as the same quality as elsewhere.
I live in the DR and have lived in Santo Domingo for years. I no longer ever purchase clothes in the country because of the poor quality of everything. Even people who live here, order things online in the USA and have them shipped here. The prices and quality are better.

How do you or your family members practice living frugally???
when grocery shopping, make a list of the things you NEED, not want. try shopping at thrift stores or one of those stores that sell all type of store brands for cheap. turn thermostat to 68 degrees in winter(a litle cold but wear a sweater and socks) keep it the same in summer too. when washing clothes, put washer and dryer on energy saving settings, and only wash once or twice a week. keep unnecessary lights oof( try those new spiral looking light bulbs they save on energy, a little expensive when you buy them but they last a really long time) diy certain things, like making your own curtains(instead of buy them, they are quite expensive) with like buying a car, try to get the striped down model( i bought a brand new car-striped down for only 10,000) get one with good gas mileage too. only take like a 10-15 min shower, with water setting on medium heat.

What are the rules for Footlocker discounts from McDonalds Monopoly?
Because apparently there are sneakers you cant use the discounts on. The girl who goes get the shoes said I wont find out if I can use it until I go to pay. WTF is that? Why cant they just say you can use it on these but not these, or not on new sneakers. I wanted to buy some Nike Dunks, and the girl said I cant use the discount, so how do I find out beforhand what I can use it on?
